1. Agreement to these terms
By engaging TurnKey Bathroom Renovations (“Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) for bathroom
renovation work, you (“Customer”, “you” or “your”) agree to be bound by these Terms and
Conditions. If you do not agree to them, please do not proceed with our services.
2. Services
We are a licensed bathroom remodeler working on residential bathrooms in New Orleans and
thirteen surrounding cities across seven Louisiana parishes. Bathrooms are the only room we take
on.
A project runs under a single contract that covers design, demolition, plumbing,
waterproofing, tile, glass, fit-out and clean-up. Our own installers carry out the work from the
first measurement to the last wipe-down.
3. Estimates and pricing
We come to the house, measure the room and give you a written price. The visit is free, there
is no charge for the distance, and there is nothing to sign at that stage.
A written estimate is valid for thirty days from its date unless it says otherwise. It is
based on what could be seen and measured at the visit, and on the scope agreed with you at that
time. If the scope changes, or if conditions turn out to differ from what was assessed, the price
may be adjusted. Any adjustment is confirmed with you in writing before the affected work goes
ahead.
4. Payment
The payment schedule for your project is set out in the written agreement for that project and
is agreed before any work begins. We do not ask for a deposit in order to give you an
estimate.
5. Scheduling and access
Work is scheduled around mutual availability. We will make reasonable efforts to arrive within
the agreed window and will tell you as soon as we can if we expect a delay.
You are responsible for giving our crew clear access to the bathroom and to the water shut-off
for the property, and for securing pets during working hours. Please clear personal items,
cabinetry contents and anything breakable from the room before we arrive. Where our crew has to
move belongings in order to work, we cannot accept responsibility for damage to those items.
6. What is found behind the tile
A bathroom cannot be fully assessed until it is opened up. Water damage, rot, failed
waterproofing, corroded or undersized supply and waste lines, out-of-square framing and floors
that are not level are all common in the housing stock we work in, and none of them are visible
at the estimate.
Where we find a condition of this kind, we stop, show you what is there, and give you a
written price for putting it right before we carry on. You decide whether that work goes ahead.
We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions, and additional work of this kind is not
included in the original estimate unless the estimate says so.
Where the layout you want requires a drain or a load-bearing element to be moved, we will tell
you at the estimate what that involves, because on a slab it means cutting concrete and on a
raised floor it means working from below.
7. Permits and inspections
Whether a permit is required depends on the scope of the work and on the parish or city the
property sits in. We confirm the route for your address before the estimate is written, and we
pull the permit where the job calls for one.
Inspections are scheduled by the authority having jurisdiction, not by us. Where an inspection
date falls outside the working window we quoted, the schedule moves with it. We will keep you
informed.
8. Cure times and using the room
Waterproofing, setting materials, grout and sealant each need time to cure before the room can
be used, and the times vary with the product and with the humidity in the house. We will tell you
at hand-over how long to wait before the shower or bath is used and before the room is cleaned.
Using a shower, bathing or cleaning the surfaces before the stated time can compromise the
waterproofing and is not covered by warranty.
9. Warranty
Our workmanship is warranted, and the fixtures, fittings and materials installed carry the
warranties of their own manufacturers, which vary by product. The terms and duration of both are
given to you in writing with your estimate and again on completion.
Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, by cleaning products or methods the
manufacturer advises against, by alterations made by others after we finish, or by a failure
elsewhere in the property that reaches the bathroom.
To make a claim, contact us with your invoice and a description of the problem. We will inspect
the work and, where a manufacturer warranty applies, deal with the manufacturer on your
behalf.
10. Limitation of liability
Our liability for any claim arising out of our work is limited to the cost of the affected
portion of that work. We are not liable for incidental, consequential or indirect losses,
including loss of use of the room, loss of income, or damage to property that our work did not
cause.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Louisiana law.
11. Cancellation
You may cancel or reschedule a booked start date with at least forty-eight hours notice
without penalty. With less notice, a charge may apply to cover the crew time and scheduling
already committed.
Where materials have been ordered, cut or fabricated specifically for your project, you may be
responsible for the cost of those materials whenever the cancellation happens.
12. If something is wrong
If you are not satisfied with any part of the work, tell us straight away. Most problems are
settled quickest by a phone call and a visit, and that is how we prefer to settle them.
Any dispute that cannot be settled directly is governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana,
and the venue for any proceedings is Orleans Parish, Louisiana.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Any change is posted on this page and applies to work contracted
after the date it is posted. The terms in force on the day you contract for work govern that
project.
